Company Profile

Mike Foster Custom Homes, Inc., was established in 1995, but Mike’s experience in homebuilding started much earlier than that. Mike’s career started in 1980, as he worked for a custom homebuilder helping with many phases of construction. After a service mission for his church from 1982 to 1983, he worked for a production homebuilder/developer while attending college. He got his first real experience in supervision when that production builder put Mike in charge of constructing their new headquarters, which was a 22,000 sq. ft. bank/office building. His real love, however, was in custom homes, so he went to work for a custom homebuilder from 1985 to 1988. After experiencing first hand what it took to own and operate a small custom home building company, Mike started his own company called Monogram Homes Inc. in 1989. Mike brought in a partner in 1990 and they developed and built more than 75 custom and semi-custom homes from 1990 to 1995. In 1995, Mike again had the desire and wanted the challenge of building more customized homes, so that is when Mike Foster Custom Homes, Inc. was created.

Mike realized there were more creative names that could be used as his new company name, but decided that putting his own name on every home he builds would speak volumes about how he wanted each home to be built and the level of quality he expected on each home. Since 1995, Mike Foster Custom Homes has built more than 45 custom homes in various valley communities ranging from 3,000 to 11,000 square feet. The company has remained relatively small so that each home receives the time and attention it deserves.

Here at Mike Foster Custom Homes we have always said that “the little things are what make the difference” and nothing could be truer than how that statement pertains to building custom homes. In fact, the home building process does not begin when permits are pulled, but long before in the planning and design phases. It starts with finding the right lot for the home and client, if the client doesn’t already have a lot. It is planning the perfect orientation of the home on the lot and how to take advantage of any views or how the home interacts with other assets the lot has to offer. Then it is deciding what style the home should be and matching the homeowner with the best designer. Before construction begins, careful planning is necessary to meet expectations and stay within the budget parameters. It is also helpful to make as many selections as possible prior to construction so that detailed specifications can be drafted. During construction, careful supervision is necessary to guarantee each home is built with the quality and workmanship that is expected in each home we build. The client is always our number one priority in making any decision and everyone at Mike Foster Custom Homes strives daily to make each project better. With our wealth of knowledge, we offer ideas and suggestions on how to make that happen. Subcontractors are only chosen if they can meet the demands and expectations of Mike Foster Custom Homes and our clients. They are expected to maximize budget constraints without sacrificing quality. Mike Foster Custom Homes prides itself on our relationship with our subcontractors, having worked with many of them for years.

Once a home is complete, our job does not end there. Mike Foster Custom Homes makes sure each client is well taken care of and that each client will be extremely proud of their home for years to come. In fact, we have had several of our build-to-suit clients return to have us build a second home for them. We would love the opportunity to show you how we can help you make your dream home or remodel become a reality. Please contact us to let us know how we can be of service to you.

Honesty and integrity, and a builder who watches and spends your money as if it were their own, are some of the unique characteristics of Mike Foster Custom Homes. They also pay great attention to detail and refuse to accept anything less than perfect work from their subcontractors. They also show great responsiveness to any issues that arise, even after they have been paid. These, and many more, are qualities that are hard to find in a homebuilder today.
